VINN personalises the digital travellers' journey
VINN Team

Having recently introduced you to Delphine as a completely new addition to the VINN team, we would now like to take this opportunity to acquaint you with our esteemed colleague and “bridge over troubled water” when it comes to aftersales – Ingo van Gemmeren.

Hello Ingo, please introduce yourself to our readers and customers in a few sentences.

My name is Ingo and I have been with VINN (formerly OTRUM) since 2002. Together with my wife and two sons, I live in the peaceful Lower Rhine region close to the Dutch border.

What are your duties at VINN?

I am an aftersales manager at VINN and, as the title suggests, I am responsible for the company’s whole aftersales department:from project work and planning to on-site installation to support for our regular costumers.

My tasks and the technology used are very diverse, and that’s what makes working at VINN so interesting. From the installation of highly complex networks to video walls, it’s all there.

The technology that is moving into our homes today, everything that revolves around the topic of home automation, is an ever-increasing topic in the hotel industry.

This is where I have the opportunity to contribute my own personal experiences or tests.

How did you first come to VINN and what did you do before?

After doing an apprenticeship as a radio/television technician (a profession which, by the way, no longer exists today!) and a 13-month position at Siemens in Bocholt, I joined VINN – at that time still called OTRUM – in Goch in 2002. I already felt very comfortable here, but nevertheless decided to take another step towards further training for the future, and then attended the technical college in Essen for two years. There I acquired the qualification “state-certified technician of electrical engineering”.

Then I returned to OTRUM – now VINN – and in the course of my work I was able to participate in many different areas and witness the development of hotel technology.

What do you do in your spare time?

I’m a real family man and like to spend a lot of time with my wife and two children. At home there is always something to do and as long as my family is around, this is the best way to balance out the sometimes exhausting days of work.

Besides that, I’m a big fan of motorsports and try to spend as much time as possible outside.

Do you have a motto?

“Let not your mind run on what you lack as much as on what you have already.” – Marc Aurel

And now I want you to make some quick decisions to get to know you better…

Wine or beer? Beer!
Holiday in the city or at the beach? Beach!
Cinema or Netflix? Increasingly Netflix, but also cinema in between.
Summer or winter? Summer!
Dog or cat? Neither.

Thank you very much for the interview, Ingo.

We appreciate your tireless commitment as well as your activities as a brand ambassador. Thank you.
